They include the Honda Civic (choppy ride, shortcuts in redesign), Jeep Liberty (cramped interior, feels cheap, gas guzzler), Toyota Prius C (stiff ride, slow acceleration, cheap looking interior), Dodge Grand Caravan (problematic, power equipment and sliding door issues and the Ford Edge (V6 - jittery ride, noisy, distracting controls.
Consumer Reports says the cars did not fare well in their rigorous tests.
The non-profit has a list of cars they do say are worth your money. Among them, the Subaru Impreza, Toyota RAV4, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Sienna and Nissan Murano.

And, before you step foot into a dealers showroom is best to do some research.
If you're looking for a summer deal, look for 2012 models. The 2013's are already starting to arrive at dealerships. Alec Gutierrez, senior market analyst at Kelley Blue Book says you'll probably get a modest deal.
But Gutierrez says you'll get the best deal on vehicles due for an update this year. There are thousands of dollars in rebates to be had on the 2012 Ford Fusion, Chevy Malibu, and Nissan Altima.
Additionally, trucks are in ample supply.
And, the experts at Kelley Blue Book also suggest you buy new versus used. Gutierrez says you'd need to find a car older than three or four years old to find deep savings. New cars offer lower interest rates, which makes the financing better.
