Future of Electric Cars

It's official, electric cars are hitting the streets. In the next few years around 15 electric cars will be going into mass production. It appears that Nissan putting the leaf on the market opened the doors for brands to roll out other electric car possibilities.

Many of the cars scheduled to come out in the next few years will first need to be tested. After testing some of the electric vehicles are scheduled to be used by large corporations who can maintain the specific needs of the cars. The auto makers will use these programs to collect data on how the cars perform under real world experiences.

When electric cars finally reach the dealerships don't be surprised if there are not many on the sales lot. It is common for car makers to only produce and distribute a small amount of product to dealerships. This small batch of cars will traditionally be committed to presale buyers. The initial demand is specific and will be given to the owners as soon as the models reach the dealerships. But as the cars become more popular and the demand becomes greater, the product level at dealerships will increase.
