Car Salesman Faces 30 Years in Prison

I found another reason why the general public should not trust car salesmen. In Florida Carlos L. Torres also known as Carlos L. Seinz, is facing up to 30 years in prison for failing to pay the Florida state government the sales tax from vehicles sold at his establishment.

Torres' used car lot is called 3BBB Auto Sales and according to authorities he has not paid the state of Florida $200,000 in sales taxes due from the years of 2006 to 2009.

If convicted Torres could face 30 years in prison, $15,000 in fines and have to pay back the stolen $200,000 in sales tax.

Point of this is to be careful when you are dealing with car salesmen. Check out my book Car Dealer Hell for all the tricks and tips when dealing with car salesmen. One of the most important pieces of advice I can give is to research the car you are pursuing. Know the base price versus the sticker price. Know how much you can debate the price with the dealership. Know about the dealership. In essence, guard yourself with as much knowledge as possible before stepping onto a car lot.
