How to Avoid Car Dealer Hell at "Sizzlin' Summer Sales"

Have you been enticed by the "Sizzlin' Summer Sales" or maybe the "Flamin' Hot Discounts of Summer"? Car dealerships love to throw around alliteration and compare the high temperatures of summer to their "incredibly hot discounts". Many a dealership have tried this gimmick to pull in consumers.

But let's face it folks, how much do you trust a car salesperson? How do you know they are going you a discount? Sure, the initial price may be 'lower' but many dealerships make up for the lost profit in different areas, from the warranty, to extra fees, to the financing.

To protect yourself from these pricing scams, the most important piece of defensive armor to have is knowledge. Know actual prices and where the dealership will try to increase costs. Have a good understanding of the common tricks they will use on you to keep bumping up the prices. Some of the common schemes are the "Bait-and-Switch", the "Bump-and-Grind" and the "Good Faith Deposit".
